If you're not sure what Dodging and Burning are, well we'll get to that as the course progresses. We'll consider applying Auto Fixes to correct any problems as well as manual fixes and these manual fixes include retouching images, and Dodging and Burning. Now with Photoshop Elements, we'll additionally look at using what are known as raw images for maximum quality. We'll also look at making edits, adding effects and transitions, using titles and working with audio, in particular, adding music and how we save our movies, once they are complete, either to a DVD or BlueRay disc or in formats so that you can send to YouTube or even you can view on an iPhone for example. And of course from there we'll work through setting up projects and arranging our clips when we are using Premiere Elements. We'll also look at some of the new features, implemented in this version, Version 10 of each program for all those people who are moving up from a previous version of either program. With it, you'll rate, tag and flag your assets ready for project inception. That helps you, as it name implies, it helps you organize your photographs and video footage. One thing that both programs have in common is a Utility Program called Adobe Organizer. So you get a clear understanding of how each works independent from each other and by association, how you make them work in partnership. That said, we'll spend most of our time studying the two programs. So that's the premise behind what we're going to do with this VTC Guide to both Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements. Now to be honest, you won't become a millionaire doing this but you will get a good return on your time and investment. Now your job of course will be to pull that footage and those photographs together to present a finished movie containing both photographs and videos in a chronological order so that it makes a delightful gift for the parents and in my experience, they usually want a few copies for grandparents too. As you know, many parents have an abundance of footage and photographs that they've shot over the years of their children, but it's all quite erratic. By utilizing somebody elses footage and photographs of course, then all you are doing is adding your creative stamp whilst editing all this together into a final film that parents will become all sentimental over. That way you don't even have to go out filming and spending extra time. This will all become clear as we progress but suffice to say at present, we'll construct a video of a child growing up that you will present by using video footage supplied by the parents of the child. Now I say videography but of course you will be using Photoshop Elements too, to add extra interest to the movies that you create. As a result I thought it worth talking to you about one way to utilize both programs in parallel to make extra income by showing how you can run a videography business aimed at parents. One of the reasons I'm going to talk about both programs in parallel is because, well, as you know every one today in this economic climate is looking to make extra income. Now you'll know Photoshop Elements deals with editing photographs and Premiere Elements deals with editing video. I'm talking about of course Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10. The reason I'm presenting a parallel course is because the two programs are related in that they're both made by Adobe and both programs are known as Element Versions of bigger versions of each program. Now of course these two programs aren't so divorced from each other that you'll wonder why I'm looking at them. How are you? My name is Mark Struthers and I'm going to spend the next eight hours or so with you offering instruction on not just one program but two programs. To begin learning today, simply click on the movie links. Parallel techniques that crossover between Photoshop and Premiere, such as using creative and corrective filters, are explored to help the user get the most from each program. Using the premise of creating a finished movie project of the early years of family members, users will be shown first how to get the best from Photoshop Elements before moving on to using Premiere Elements. Users will be shown how to make the important initial set up to all three programs before exploring how Elements Organizer binds the distinct elements together through its options to tag and rate both videos and photos. Additionally, in parallel, the ancillary program Elements Organizer is studied too. In this VTC course, author Mark Struthers tackles Adobe's combined package of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements which is the latest update to the extremely popular professional digital photography and video editing software.
